國土橫跨歐亞兩洲。曾為蘇聯加盟國之一，於蘇聯解體後轉向歐美，且一直爭取加入歐盟。2008年和俄羅斯爆發南奧塞梯戰爭，爭搶「阿布哈茲」和「南奧塞梯」兩地主權。自此喬治亞與俄羅斯關係緊張，但在貿易量和觀光收入上又高度依賴俄羅斯。2016年宣布禁止台灣護照過境/入境喬治亞，除非你有第二本護照或中國旅行證，否則不建議闖關喬治亞。

Spanning the continents of Europe and Asia and formerly a constituent of the Soviet Union, Georgia warmed up to Europe and the United States after the collapse of the Soviet Union, and has been working to join the European Union. It was engaged in a war with Russia in South Ossetia in 2008, fighting for control over Abkhazia and South Ossetia. This has created tension between Georgia and Russia, which is especially problematic considering Georgia relies heavily on Russia in trade volume and tourism income. In 2016, Georgia banned entry to and transit through Georgia with a Taiwan Passport. Unless you have a second passport or a travel document from China, attempting to enter Georgia is not recommended.
