二戰後成立，最初目的是與蘇聯的華沙公約組織相抗衡。目前是歐洲及北美洲共同組成的重要軍事聯盟，成員國加總起來擁有大量核武器和常規部隊。公約規定，當其中一個成員國受到攻擊，各國部隊將自動參戰。近幾年除了持續關注俄羅斯動態，也在2019年首度承認中國構成「挑戰」。

Year of Establishment: 1949

NATO was founded after WWII with the intention of keeping the Warsaw Treaty Organization led by the Soviet Union in check. It is now a critical military alliance jointly formed by European and North American states. The member states collectively possess a large number of nuclear weapons and conventional forces. The treaty stipulates that should any one of these nations be attacked, the others are obligated to help defend it. In recent years, in addition to keeping a watchful eye on Russia, NATO also admitted for the first time that China constituted a “challenge.”
