位於東非的內陸國家，雖處熱帶，但因為境內多高原，所以氣候宜人，境內的維多利亞瀑布為世界三大瀑布之一。民主發展相對成熟，且政局穩定，所以跟其他撒哈拉以南國家相比，都市化程度較高，屬開發中國家。國內有豐富銅礦資源，但因早期國有化缺乏效率，後來改成私有化後又因為銅價波動大，投資人卻步，銅礦產業遲遲無法發揮到最大經濟價值，目前全國一半的人口仍以務農為主。近年尚比亞政府積極挽救下墜的經濟，仍無法解決舉債過高的問題，目前政府債務佔GDP比例高達118%。

Zambia is a land-locked state in East Africa. Although a tropical country, Zambia’s location on the plateau gives the land a generally moderate climate. Its famous Victoria Falls is one of the world’s top three waterfalls. With relatively mature democracy and political stability, Zambia is a more urbanized developing country, compared to other sub-Saharan countries. It is rich in copper resources. The state-owned copper mining industry lacked efficiency at the beginning, but even after privatization, the volatility of copper prices has again kept investors at bay. As Zambia has not been able to tap into the full economic value of its copper mining industry over many decades, half of its population now still earn their living by farming. In recent years, the Zambian government has been working hard to save its declining economy, but has failed to reduce its heavy debt. The current national debt has reached 118% of Zambian GDP.
