Its GDP per capita is as high as US$28,400, close to that of Taiwan. It is the world’s fifth most densely populated country, ranking behind Monaco, Singapore, Bahrain and the Maldives. According to 2012 research done by the well-known scientific journal the “Lancet,” Malta is the world’s most physically inactive nation, as 71.9% of Maltese adults lead a very sedentary lifestyle. Maybe the blame can be pinned on the country’s coziness.
