北歐五國之一， 因擁有18.8萬個湖泊， 又有「千湖之國」的美名。人均GDP和人類發展指數皆在全球前15名內，國內生活品質高，社會福利良好。於2018年到2021年連續四年登上聯合國《世界幸福報告》第一名。二戰後宣布成為永久中立國，有加入歐盟，但沒有加入北約，僅和北約達成支持協議。2019年新任總理桑娜·馬林就職，成為全球最年輕國家領袖，其內閣成員也以女性居多。

Finland is one of the five Nordic countries. It is described as the Land of a Thousand Lakes because it has 188,000 lakes. Its GDP per capita and Human Development Index scores are among the top 15 in the world. This state has a good social welfare system and high quality of life. It has also ranked first on the World Happiness Report Index for four years in a row from 2018 to 2021. It claimed permanent neutrality after WWII. It is a member of the European Union but not NATO. The state has only agreed to support NATO peace-keeping operations. The new Prime Minister, Sanna Marin, sworn into office in 2019, is the world’s youngest head of state and leads a female-majority cabinet.
