Liechtenstein is a small rich nation sandwiched between Switzerland and Austria. Its territorial area is even smaller than Taipei City. Like Switzerland, it is also a permanently neutral country. On top of this status, its perfect geographical location and low-tax investment environment make the country a tax haven for European companies. The country’s per capita income is among the highest in the world. As national defense is too costly, it is one of the very few countries that do not have its own military forces. It entrusts Switzerland to handle all of its international diplomatic relations.
