位於太平洋玻里尼西亞島群，由多個島嶼聯合而成。雖是大英國協成員，但有自己的王室，是太平洋僅存的王國。因為首任國王嚴禁販售土地給外國人，使得東加成為太平洋當中唯一一個沒有被外國人佔據過的島群，其民族、語言和文化皆保存良好，也是觀賞大翅鯨的天堂。近年來因為連年GDP增長率皆為負值，再加上疫情嚴重影響觀光收入，東加總理（首相）於2020年向最大債權國─中國─提出債務重組要求。

Situated within the Polynesian archipelago in the Pacific, Tonga consists of many islands. 

Although a member of the British Commonwealth, Tonga has its own monarchy and is the only surviving kingdom in the Pacific. Because the first King forbade selling land to foreigners, Tonga is the only archipelago ever invaded by foreigners in the Pacific. The people, and their language and culture are well-preserved, and it is the best place to watch humpback whales. 

In recent years, due to consecutive negative GDP growth rates and the pandemic impacting tourism income, the prime minister of Tonga proposed debt restructuring to China in 2020, their largest creditor country.
