原名史瓦濟蘭，於2018年改名，是台灣在非洲地區唯一一個邦交國，也是非洲罕見的君主專制國家。國內受愛滋病所苦，15至49歲感染愛滋病毒的人口比例高達27%，為全球愛滋病問題最嚴重的國家。加上83%愛滋病患者也同時患有肺結核，高死亡率使得全國預期壽命一度只有42歲，現已提高到60歲。台灣多年來提供高品質醫療與公共衛生知識鞏固邦交，史瓦帝尼政府發言人曾於2020年說：「我們對中國提供的東西沒興趣。」

Eswatini was formerly known as Swaziland and was renamed in 2018. It is the only country in Africa that has maintained ties with Taiwan. The government is an absolute monarchy, the last of its kind in Africa. HIV/AIDS is widespread in the country. It is estimated that 27% of the population aged 15-49 is HIV-positive. It has the highest HIV prevalence in the world. 83% of HIV/AIDS patients also suffer from tuberculosis. The high mortality rate dropped the country’s life expectancy to age 42 at one point, but now it’s back up to 60, but still well below the global average. Taiwan has been offering high-quality medical services and public health knowledge to strengthen diplomatic ties. An Eswatini government spokesman said in 2020, “We’re not interested in what is being offered (by China).”
