Uganda is a land-locked state in East Africa. The juxtaposition of mountains and waters creates a livable climate with average temperature ranging between 16 and 27 degrees Celsius. A period of military dictatorship ensued after Uganda broke away from British colonial control, and about 300,000 people died during this time. The incumbent president, Yoweri Museveni, was re-elected again in 2021, thus further extending his long 26 years in power. But Museveni’s government was also flagged by Transparency International as one of the most corrupt governments in the world. Agriculture employs the majority of the country’s workforce. Uganda also sits on a wealth of mineral resources though most are untapped. Uganda’s median age of 15 years is among the third youngest in the world and it’s famous for its gorillas.
