和剛果民主共和國是不同國家喔，常以「剛果（布）」為簡稱。位於非洲中部，1960年之前受法國殖民，現在官方語言為法語。1997年爆發剛果共和國內戰，造成一萬多人死亡，並留下族群分裂的遠因。2018年成為OPEC成員，目前經濟以石油和相關產業為主。政局比剛果民主共和國穩定許多。

The Republic of the Congo is not the same country as the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is also known as Congo-Brazzaville. Located in Central Africa, it was colonized by France before 1960. French is their official language. In 1997, Civil War broke out in The Republic of the Congo, leading to more than ten thousand civilian deaths and planting the seed of ethnic conflict. It became a member state of OPEC in 2018 and its economy is heavily dependent on the oil sector. It is more politically stable than the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
