位於東南亞，是全世界最大的群島國家，又有「萬島之國」的別稱。人口超過2.8億，為全球人口第四多的國家，也是東南亞最大的經濟體，但人均GDP僅3,900美元，為中低收入國家。國內有超過三百個民族，兩百種語言，文化多元豐富。是全球穆斯林人口最多的國家。最東邊領土西巴布亞省的宗教和文化皆和印尼其他地方大不相同，常有民族衝突。

Located in Southeast Asia, Indonesia is the largest archipelago country in the world and is also known as the “country of thousands of islands.”

With a population over 28 billion, Indonesia is the fourth most populated country in the world as well as the biggest economy in Southeast Asia. However, its GDP per capita is only US$3,900, making it a low- and middle-income country. 

A country of diverse cultures, there are more than 300 ethnic groups and 200 languages in Indonesia. It is also the country with the largest Muslim population in the world. The religion and culture of West Papua Province, the easternmost territory, are very different from the rest of Indonesia, and hence ethnic conflicts break out frequently.
