Bolivia is a landlocked country in western-central South America, with nearly 50% of the Amerindian population. It is rich in high-value natural resources, including oil, gas, and various kinds of minerals. It has the world’s largest lithium deposits and the production potential is enormous. President Morales, who had been in office for more than 14 years, went into exile due to a power struggle in the country. Bolivia is described as a “beggar sitting on a chair of gold” due to its political instability and sluggish economy. Morales returned from exile at the end of 2020 and the power struggle in Bolivia continues.
