位於南亞的伊斯蘭教國家，和印度長期不合。2022年時任總理遭到倒閣，新總理和內閣一上任就面對全球通膨和糧食危機等巨大挑戰，通膨率一度超過20%，國家面臨破產。政府官員甚至呼籲民眾少喝茶，因為茶葉都是進口的，會消耗外匯存底。
境內的激進武裝組織亦是巴基斯坦的頭痛原因，全球和平指數在163個國家中排名第150名。不過在阿富汗塔利班的調停之下，政府軍與境內的巴基斯坦塔利班宣布暫時停火，進入談判程序。和中國關係依舊如鐵打的哥們（「巴鐵」的稱號就是這樣來的），但2022年中國主辦金磚峰會，巴基斯坦被印度拒於峰會門外，也呈現出中、印、巴三國之間的微妙關係。

An Islamic state in South Asia. Pakistan became rivals with India after the Partitioning of India in 1947 and fought three Indo-Pakistani Wars, with both parties developing nuclear weapons with which to threaten one another. Even though conflicts with India occur in Kashmir only nowadays, Pakistan still maintains the world's 10th largest armed forces on active duty with nuclear weapons access.
Originally one of the fastest growing developing countries, the GDP growth rate has declined in the past two years and it has fallen from the world's 40th biggest economy to the 45th. It signed onto the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor project with China in 2014, an important item in the Belt and Road project, but there has still been no progress as of 2021.
