加勒比海地區相對繁榮的島國之一，總人口約29萬人，人口密度比台灣還高一些些。過去嚴重依賴糖出口，但近年來改成發展觀光旅遊業和金融服務業，人均GDP排名全球約50到60名之間。過去受英國殖民，屬大英國協國家。但巴貝多政府預計於2021年11月正式取消英國女王為國家元首的地位，以擺脫過去殖民歷史。對了，美國知名女星蕾哈娜Rihanna就是土生土長的巴貝多人喔！

Barbados is one of the more populous and prosperous Caribbean islands. It has a population of about 290,000, slightly higher than Taiwan’s density. The economy of Barbados was dependent on sugarcane export, but it has diversified into the financial and tourism sectors in recent years. Its GDP per capita ranks between the top 50 and 60. It was colonized by the British in 1625 and is still part of the British Commonwealth. In November 2021, the Barbados government removed the Queen as Head of State, breaking its ties with the British royal family. By the way, the US-based singer Rihanna was born and raised in Barbados!
