我們準備要到充滿地中海風情的南歐囉！南歐有15個國家。咦？有這麼多嗎？因為有五個小到在地圖上找不到的國中國啦！南歐不僅是歐洲文化的發源地（希臘、義大利），更是拉丁美洲的文化來源（西班牙、葡萄牙）。這裡的信仰組成單純，沒有太多宗教衝突，還保留了很多美麗又悠久的教堂。

但是南歐不是沒有紛擾。塞爾維亞和科索沃的主權問題、阿爾巴尼亞人和塞爾維亞人的千年恩怨、東地中海的自然資源爭奪戰，以及數以萬計從北非渡海而來的難民。台灣人對南歐的印象是度假勝地，但對有些人來說，抵達南歐，單單是為了活命。

Now we are going to visit the southern European countries known for their incredible Mediterranean charm. There are 15 countries in southern Europe. Really? Are there really so many countries in this region? Yes, because five of the countries are enclaves which are too small to be found on a map. Southern Europe is not only the origin of the unique European cultures found in Greece and Italy, but the source of the Latin American cultures with their roots in Spain and Portugal. The simple religious composition of Southern Europe means there have been few religious conflicts and many beautiful ancient cathedrals have been well-preserved.

But this does not mean Southern Europe is free of conflict; Serbia and Kosovo fought over sovereignty claims. The grievances between the Albanians and Serbs have lasted more than a thousand years. Countries have been fighting over the natural resources in the Eastern Mediterranean for millennia. Taiwanese people may see this region as a holiday destination, but tens of thousands of refugees have made the treacherous journey across the sea from North Africa to southern Europe because, for them, reaching this place is a matter of life and death.
